How I write your bespoke Wedding Ceremony

Undertaking the writing of a couples bespoke Wedding Ceremony is a responsible task, it’s one of the most important days of their lives, a day that will be documented in video and pictures, remembered and referred to, for years to come, so it has to be perfect.

When, meeting with the couple, I want to put them at ease, and talk freely about their past, present, and future, in order to understand their journey from their first meeting to the present day.

We discuss the format and contents ensuring their wishes are met, resources are provided, with support and guidance offered where needed to assist them with their choices.

Then it’s down to the actual writing. Each script I write is unique, individual, and tailored to the couple. I will write a  welcome their guests, refer to whoever is significant in their lives for their special day. I will source poetry and readings that reflect the personalities of them as a couple, whether that is historic and traditional, pagan and spiritual, modern and witty, or follows a theme of their choice.

The ’Love Story’ will retrace their first meeting, their first date, their falling in love, and their engagement, discovering their thoughts and emotions as the journey unfolds. I will cover any hurdles they have overcome, how they have worked together as a team, and most importantly what they love about each other. This piece of writing can be full of humour and emotion, it can be slushy or romantic, it can be heartfelt and uplifting, it can be whatever truly reflects the couple and their journey.

The Promises, Vows, and Ring exchange can also all be bespoke. The wording created to incorporate the couple’s personalities, from traditional to modern and everything in-between. The couple may wish to write their own vows, in which case examples and guidance can be offered to support that.

Writing a bespoke Ceremony, takes time, in getting to know the couple and in the creative process. That time is reflected on the day, when during and after the service –  the joy, the emotions, the laughter, and the love, is written all over the faces of the couple and their guests! A day to remember and cherish. A job well done.

And of course, this dedication to my work transcends to all my ceremonies, Commitment Ceremonies, Vow Renewal Ceremonies, and in a slightly different approach – to all sorts of other ceremonies, including celebrations of life and funerals.

If you are planning a Wedding, or any other ceremony and would like a bespoke and unique script written by me please get in touch and we can work together to celebrate your special day - your way.
